Statement

Some paintings ask to be understood. Others simply ask you to stay.

Built through countless layers, my work reflects on erosion, memory and transformation. Rather than telling a story, each painting offers space for personal interpretation, inviting the viewer to connect with what remains beneath the surface.

Process

Building up, taking away, leaving behind

Layers

Every work begins by building up. Layer upon layer, until the surface has a history of its own.

Erosion

Then comes the taking away. Scraping, sanding, uncovering what lay beneath.

Memory

What remains is not an image but a trace. Memory made visible.

About the work

The work comes about slowly. Paint is added, removed, covered and revealed again until the surface begins to hold something that cannot be planned. Over the years the paintings have become less about expression and more about discovery: slowing down, listening, and trusting the process rather than controlling it.
